Dr. Anderson co-chaired the second annual Nebraska Dental Association’s Mission of Mercy event, resulting in over $640,000 in free dental care
Throughout his years practicing, Dr. Anderson has kept up-to-date with the latest procedures and equipment.
This, coupled with his extensive experience, gives him an expert and practiced hand at even the most complicated procedures. It also helps him provide a very efficient, comfortable and gentle dental experience, so that even the dental cowards will feel relaxed in his office.
Dr. Anderson enjoys treating entire families and he and his staff make even the youngest child feel at home.
Dr. Steven Anderson is a vital part of the Grand Island Community, practicing here for over 39 years and participating in many community activities. Born in Douglas, Wyoming, he soon became a Nebraska resident, graduating from the University of Nebraska pre-dental program and the University of Nebraska Medical Center, College of Dentistry. He practiced in Battle Creek, NE for 9 months before moving to Grand Island. He loves Grand Island and loves what he does, and intends to serve the community for many more years.
Dr. Anderson is a very accomplished dentist, with many awards to his name, and is a member of several local and national dental associations and organizations.
He is a member of the American Dental Association, Nebraska Dental Association and Hall County Dental Society. He recently was inducted into the Nebraska Dental Hall of Fame.
He is the Vice President of America's Mission of Mercy (a charitable dental project), Past President of the Hall County Dental Society and has been appointed as a Member of the University of Nebraska Dental College Dean's Advisory Council.
Community & Charitable Work
Dr. Anderson has a passion for helping others and contributes his expertise and time to many community and charitable causes. He is a founding member of the America's Dentists Care Foundation and Vice President of the America’s Mission of Mercy (AMOM), which supplies equipment for state Missions of Mercy. Missions of Mercy is a dental project for those that cannot afford dental care. In 2009 that organization will oversee giving approximately $7,000,000 of free dental care to about 14,000 patients in 7 different states.
He has been awarded the Nebraska Dental Community Service Award and the Rotary Award for Community Service. He served as Co-Chair of a very successful United Way campaign that raised 23% more than the goal in 2008. He also helps many children by volunteering with the TeamMates mentoring program in Grand Island schools.
Dr. Anderson is married with two wonderful children; daughter Arica McNutt, a cosmetologist in Omaha and son Aric Anderson, who is a tile setter and also lives in Omaha. He and his wife, Charla, enjoy visiting family, entertaining at home, and the good natured company of Doyle, their soft-coated Wheaton Terrier. In his leisure time, Dr. Anderson especially enjoys woodworking, golf, hunting, helping others, travel to Wyoming, and of course everything that goes along with living in Grand Island.

They are all very well trained, truly enjoy their jobs and will make sure you are given good service and are seen on time. They are a friendly, caring team who provide a personal touch.
Cindy Ericson, Dental Hygienist
Cindy graduated from the University of Nebraska, College of Dentistry in 1977 and joined the Anderson Dental Care team immediately following her graduation. Cindy enjoys and appreciates the wonderful patient/caregiver relationships that 30+ years in the practice have afforded her. She resides in Loup City with her husband, John. They have two grown children and one grandchild. Cindy enjoys community volunteer work, reading, walking and being a “granny”.
Anita Kreifels, Dental Assistant
Anita joined the practice in 2004 after starting her career in dentistry in 1974. Dentistry is very rewarding to Anita because of the relationships with the patients and other team members. She and her husband Kevin have two sons and two granddaughters. She enjoys exercise, scrapbooking, reading and time with her family.
Judy Heath, Dental Assistant
Judy has been a member of the team since 1971 and graduated from Central Community College in 1972 with an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Dental Assisting. She enjoys working with the patients and seeing all the positive changes that have taken place in dentistry. Judy loves to spend time with her grandchildren and family and plays an active role in her church choir.
Shelley Anderson, Office Manager
Shelley came on board in 2007 with an extensive background in health service. She enjoys the public contact and building lifelong relationships. Shelley and her husband Brent have one daughter and two grandchildren. Her personal interests include those two cuties, reading, entertaining, scrapbooking, card making and travel.
